Description 

Average annual Precipitation considering monthly sums for the whole period (1979-2019). Monthly aggregates have been calculated based on the ERA5 hourly values of each parameter. 


Annual change of the average total Precipitation for the whole period (1979-2019). The total change is the annual change multiplicated by the total number of years. A change of 2 millimeters per year represents a 80 mm total change between the start and the end of the period which is 1979-2019.


Annual Precipitation anomaly which is the average annual Precipitation for the whole period (1979-2019) comparing it to the average annual Precipitation of the year 2014-2019. The anomalies map shows the percentage deviation (per pixel) between 2014-2019 and the annual average for the whole region 1979-2019.

Description 

ERA5 is the fifth generation ECMWF atmospheric reanalysis of the global climate. Reanalysis combines model data with observations from across the world into a globally complete and consistent dataset.  

Spatial resolution 

The pixel size is 0.25 deg (approx. 28km at the equator)

Temporal resolution 

ERA5 data is available from 1979 to three months from real-time.
