The Surface Water dataset in Earth Map deals with the location and temporal distribution of surface waters at a global level and statistics on the extent and change of these water areas. The product from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) was generated using three million Landsat satellite images and quantifies changes in global surface water over the past 32 years at 30-metre resolution (Pekel et al, 2016).
